The Technology and Equipment
Laser Ranger is played with authentic Italian deactivated over-and-under 12-bore shotguns. Incorporated into each gun is a dedicated microchip which controls the infra-red beam fired by the guns and an individual radio transmitter which sends information to a control module linked to a large electronic scoreboard. Whenever the trigger is pulled, the control module/scoreboard generates realistic sound effects of a shotgun 'bang' and when a player hits the target it reproduces the sound of a breaking clay. An indicator on the gun instantly tells the player weather he/she has hit or missed the target and spectators and players can see the score of each player displayed on the scoreboard.
